A Market Visit

One section of our Saturday Market booth showing some hats and microwave potato bags. My darling friend of 50 years showed up one day.

She bought a bright pink earflap hat for cool mornings on her half hour daily walkswhen Fall comes. She looked so cute she will probably find someone trying to pick her up. Hat Power!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Opening Day of the local Saturday Market was also my birthday.

Organizers and fellow vendors surprised me with cakes, candles and song on a gorgeous sun filled day.

The first photo shows the blue canopied stall displaying Carmen's and my hand knit creations, made over the long, cold, wet Oregon months.

.....a great new year beginning for me and the Market.

Fancy Purses

Spring is here and so is Saturday Market. Earflap hats sell until the weather warms but sales slow down as the thermometer goes up.

Carmen taught me how to make purses. It is quick, easy and uses up all the leftovers. It is fun because of the creativity needed in combining colors and textures.
These sample photos show some ideas using fun fur for accents.

I used the blue loom to make purses 5-6 inches long and attached an i-cord handle. These do not have a clasp for closing. That should be easy to do on some others.

The black one below has 2 little half pompoms, one on each side. I think it is very chic. The yellow one has a half pompom of 2 colors with a little bead sewn on for the middle.

Elf Hats

These hats are modified from a pattern by "cputzier". The blue one went to my friend Judy in Astoria. I am surprised how fitting they look on adults and children alike. It is fun to watch people try on these hats because they immediately become lively, perky and humorous in actions.
